Indictment of Kansas City officer spurs courthouse incident

 


KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Jackson County prosecutor's offices were closed Friday after a screaming man upset with the indictment of Kansas City police detective tried to break into the office through a glass door.

No one was hurt during the incident, and the man was not arrested, the Kansas City Star reported.

Spokesman Michael Mansur said sheriff's deputies removed the man from Jackson County prosecutor Jean Peters Baker's offices in the downtown courthouse.

"We want to ensure that our employees are safe. We did this out of an abundance of caution," he said.
