Oklahoma reports 2nd-biggest new COVID-19 case daily total

 


OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma's count of people with the illness caused by the new coronavirus continued to skyrocket Friday as the state reported its second-biggest daily increase.

At least 359 new cases of COVID-19 were reported one day after Thursday's report of 450 new cases, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Friday's numbers raise the state's total number of cases by 3.8% to at least 9,706 since the outbreak began in March. The actual number is likely higher because many people have not been tested, and studies suggest people can be infected and not feel sick.
