ATV wreck takes life of Waukomis woman

A Waukomis woman died in an ATV wreck in Garfield County Monday night. Shannon Metzger, 40, of Waukomis, was pronounced dead at the scene due to trunk internal injuries sustained in the crash. She was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.
The rollover occurred at 10 p.m. Monday, June 22, at the intersection of Hobart Road and Blaine Road. The location is one mile south and two miles east of Hillsdale.
Kelly M. Burtrum, 43, of Nash, was driving a 2013 Artic Cat ATV southbound on Hobart Road approaching a “T” intersection at Blaine Road. Metzger was a passenger.
