The gallery was at capacity Monday morning at the Alfalfa County commissioners meeting. Jay Hague, Stan Tucker and Marvin Woodall were joined by Jet's fire chief Colton Castle, Burlington's fire chief Aaron Smith, and Cherokee Rescue's Tyler Rice and Stephen Cockrum. Also in attendance were county clerk Laneta Unruh, administrative assistant Nancy Lambert, emergency manager Shana Smallwood, and Alfalfa County treasurer Valerie Vetter.

The commissioners started with their usual items: previous meeting minutes, maintenance and operation payment warrants, and blanket purchase orders. Those were a...
