A Celebration of Life will take place on July 17, 2020, at 6 p.m., at the Alva Church of God.

Joanne Alice Sorter Mauk Price, 68, resident of Alva, Oklahoma, died May 2, 2020, at Integris Baptist Health Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was born December 18, 1951, to Frank and Florence Sorter. Joanne was a long term resident of Forgan, Oklahoma, and in recent years had made her home in Alva with her husband of 28 years, Richard Price.

Joanne was a registered nurse and worked in area healthcare facilities caring for local residents until her retirement. She was an active member of the Alva Church of God. Joanne enjoyed square dancing with the Alva Twisters and was their historian. Anyone who visited Joanne saw the beautiful results of her love of gardening and heard the love she had for her grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 28 years, Richard Price of Alva; daughter Jenifer and husband Glandy Gani and grandchildren Kyle "Frank" Mauk and Cambrie Gani, all of Edmond; brothers Jerry Sorter and wife Donelle, Larry Sorter and wife Chalice and Terry Sorter and Rosalinda Sanchez, all of Forgan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
