Alfalfa County commissioner candidates face runoff

 


With three candidates running for the Alfalfa County Commissioner District No. 2 position, no one gained more than 50 percent of the votes. The top two, Michael Roach and Nelson Frantz, will face off in the primary runoff election Aug. 25. Roach received 209 votes or 47.83 percent while Frantz had 170 votes or 38.9 percent. The third candidate, Kevin Irwin, received 58 votes or 13.27 percent.

Two Alfalfa County candidates retained their offices. County Clerk Laneta Unruh defeated Shana Smallwood 859 to 417 or 67.32 percent to 32.68 percent. Sheriff Rick Wallace received 82.64 percent of the vo...
