Alva has two more positive COVID-19 cases

 


After reaching seven confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 last week in Alva, the count dropped to six because a duplicate was found. However, on July 7 the number rose to eight confirmed cases. Of those, five are shown as recovered. The only confirmed cases in Woods County have been in Alva.

Alfalfa County remains at one positive case, since recovered. That individual was located in Jet. Harper County also has had only one case, since recovered. Major County is reporting eight cases with one death and the remaining seven recovered. Woodward County has had 15 positive cases with 11 recovered. Garfield County (Enid) has had 84 cases with two deaths and 63 recovered.

Tulsa County has had the highest number of cases with 4,365; of those 3,294 have recovered and 71 have died. Oklahoma County follows with 3,819 cases, 70 deaths and 2,719 recovered. Cleveland County (Norman) is third highest with 1,157 cases, 40 deaths and 859 recovered. Texas County is fourth with 997 cases, six deaths and 982 recovered.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported Tuesday the state has had 17,220 confirmed cases, up 858 from Monday’s total. There were five new deaths; none occurred in the preceding 24 hours. One was in Carter County, a male in the 65 and older age group. One was in Delaware County, a female in the 65 and older age group. One was in Garvin County, a male in the 50–64 age group. One was in McCurtain County, a male in the 65 and older age group. One was in Muskogee County, one female in the 65 and older age group. There are 404 total deaths in the state.
