When the “beaners” have their black cauldrons of ham and beans bubbling for Labor Day in Progress Park, there will be a new addition nearby. The family of Cindy Molz Yandell addressed the Kiowa City Council at their July meeting about donating a granite bench in Cindy's memory to sit on the west side of the park near where the beaners set up annually.
