According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) website on Thursday, Woods County now has 16 positive cases of COVID-19 with 11 recovered, leaving five active cases. Of those cases, 11 have been in Alva with nine recovered and two active. Freedom is shown as having four cases, all active. The other case location is apparently undetermined, and the number of recovered cases doesn’t quite add up. Earlier this week the OSDH said they had discovered a number of cases that had not been entered in their dashboard data, which resulted in a spike in new case numbers.

Around the area, Alfalfa County still has only one positive case, now recovered. Harper County has had two cases, now recovered. Major County to the south shows 20 cases with one death and 16 recovered.

As of the Thursday morning advisory, there are 28,802 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma, up 668 from the previous day's advisory.

There were three additional deaths. One was identified in the past 24 hours.

One in Grady County, one male in the 50 - 64 age group.

Two in McCurtain County, two females in the 65 or older age group.

There are 477 total deaths in the state and 607 currently hospitalized.
