You now need to wear a mask to go inside. A few people are really excited about this infringement of their freedoms. While I can understand this view, they really need to look at it from another perspective. True this is a government sponsored “infringement,” but you wear a seat belt when you drive, you pull your shoes off to get on an airplane, and you show identification for all kinds of things. Rather than look like you don’t care about your or others' health, just suck it up and put on a mask. Besides, on some of us it helps hide the ugly.
Well, it is official, the Washington Redskins are no more. The team is still there, but for now they are “The team with no name.” I guess I don’t understand what has happened here. Did the powers that be call every Native American in the United States and ask yea or nay on changing the name? I bet if they had there would be no change.
I guess maybe if I were an Apache, I would feel differently, but I don’t think so. I would be proud to have a major sporting venue named after my heritage. In fact I think my ancestors were German, so I am going to call the owner of the Washington football team and tell him how proud I would be if they were named the Washington Germans. Better still let’s call them the Washington Scribners. Kind of has a special ring to it, doesn’t it?
I am getting real tired of the minority dictating what the majority has to be subject to. People need to realize not everything can or will be the way they want it and grow some thick skin. On the ‘get real’ front a petition to force the Eskimo Joe’s franchise to change its logo has been shot down in major style. There were a couple of idiots that thought it was demeaning to Eskimos. The real Eskimos polled were very happy with the logos.
Friend Bubba found a new cause. He’s off to knock down the pyramids because Egyptians had slaves 5,000 years ago. I wished him luck. Also, a truck loaded with Vicks VapoRub overturned on the highway today. Amazingly, there was no congestion for 8 hours!
