Chester man in critical condition after tree falls on truck

 


A man is in critical condition after a tree fell on the pickup in which he was riding. The incident occurred in Major County on Tuesday, July 28, at 2:45 p.m. on County Road 580. The location is approximately four miles north of Longdale.

Ricky Dake, 35, of Chester, was pinned in the vehicle approximately 15 minutes and freed by Canton and Longdale fire departments. He was transported by Canton EMS to a nearby location 100 yards away where Air Evac picked him up and took him to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Dake was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.

Chester Dewayne Cravens, 74, of Fairview, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet truck westbound on CR 580 when a tree fell over onto the truck. Cravens and a second passenger, Roy Dewayne Cisco, 21, of Chester, were transported by Major County EMS to Fairview Hospital where they were treated and released.
