The Space Force – branch No. 6 in the arsenal that protects us from foreign encroachment.

It was created in June of 2019 as part of the 2020 defense bill following NATO’S recognition of space as “an operational domain of warfare.”

The current administration may take credit for its naming but it was begun with a directive from President Clinton in 1996 “to develop, operate and maintain space-control capabilities to ensure freedom of action in space and, if directed, to deny such freedom of action to adversaries.”
