Alva school buildings have been cleaned and classrooms readied in anticipation of returning students. Classes begin Thursday, Aug. 13.

Traditionally the schools hold a Meet the Teacher night so students can tour buildings, meet their teachers and get acquainted with staff members. This year the event will look a little different with arrangements to minimize crowding. All schools will hold a variation of the usual event on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m.
