Alva Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Miller will be sworn in as Fire Chief during Monday’s Alva City Council meeting. Miller, who is also the Alva fire marshal, will follow Kirk Trekell who is retiring. The city council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall.

The Police Officer of the Year will also be recognized during the meeting Monday.

Following the consent agenda for minutes and claims, the council will hear reports from staff on earlier city meetings. Those will be followed by the mayor’s report and the city business manager’s report.
