The Alva Garden Council has chosen the Moorthy home located at 1322 Locust St. as the August Yard of the Month. Sudha, a plant expert, and her husband have lovingly created a lush, eye-appealing front lawn that lays out a welcoming entrance with various plantings as well as many potted floral arrangements on the porch and surroundings. They do not use pesticides in weed control, only organic materials.
