Pipeline to bring wastewater from Lubbock to Permian Basin

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Oil companies in the Permian Basin of Texas and New Mexico need millions of gallons of water to retrieve petroleum.
At the same time, the city of Lubbock, Texas, spends $1 million each year to dispose its treated wastewater at two city farms.
Enter Palisade Pipeline, a Houston-based company with plans for a 100-mile pipeline to transport wastewater from Lubbock to the Permian Basin.
The company signed an agreement in 2019 to buy 6 million gallons of wastewater a day from Lubbock.
