Increase of COVID-19 in area signals need to be careful

Last Friday, the number of confirmed active COVID-19 cases in Alva was 13. On Monday, that number increased to 21 and on Tuesday it was 23, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) online dashboard. In light of the increasing numbers, the Alva Chamber of Commerce has decided not to have the Spook Parade and business trick or treating this year. On Monday, the Alva First United Methodist Church said there will be no Trunk or Treat event.
