Alva has narrow loss to Hennessey 17-14

With several players out due to injuries, the Alva Goldbugs took on the Hennessey Eagles in a district game at Ranger Field Friday night. Alva was 2-5 overall and 1-3 in district play going into the contest while Hennessy had a 2-3 overall record with 1-1 in district play. The Eagles missed a couple of games due to COVID-19.

It was a low-scoring game with Hennessey posting two touchdowns in the second quarter. Alva added two touchdowns in the opening seconds of the third period to trail by one point. A safety in the fourth quarter for Hennessey capped the score with the Eagles winning 17-14.
