Woods County voters approve EMS district

Almost 58 percent of voters cast favorable ballots for the Woods County proposition in Tuesday’s general election, Nov. 3. This proposition sets up a 522 EMS District for the county with the three mill ad valorem levy going to fund the three EMS services in Alva, Freedom and Waynoka. The Woods County commissioners will name board members to be responsible for the distribution of the funds and the annual audit.

Voting on the proposition shows 2,089 votes in favor and 1,523 votes against for a total of 3,612. Of that number, 268 voted absentee, 1,207 voted early and 2,137 voted on Nov. 3.
