Haven’t we always had mirrors? According to an article in Smithsonian Magazine, no, but their use can be traced back for many millennia.
Humans have, according to the article, always been fascinated by their looks. One mirror, from a Bronze Age site in Turkey, is polished obsidian from 6200 B.C. Egyptians made mirrors from polished copper, Chinese used polished jade, and later the Greeks and Romans made small mirrors from glass.
