Anderson moves closer to MD Anderson

Cherokee School Superintendent Donna Anderson may know better than most what a difficult year 2020 was. At the first of the year, her cancer – which she'd been fighting for a decade – returned. And it came back in a place that was difficult to treat, she said.

“I had to focus on the cancer,” she said, so she's taken a job that's five hours closer to M.D. Anderson, where she's being treated.

“The deal was Bryce (Shanbacher) would become superintendent, but he needed to take a test first.” Anderson said she was more than happy to continue as the official superintendent for the purposes of legal...
