Bearcats defeat Eagles 27-0

Ridge Purviance (No. 21) looks for a path through the defense. Thanks to blocks by Bearcat Clayton White (No. 3) on Noel Fernandez, (Eagle No. 1) and Bearcat Jason Schnoebelen, Purviance runs the ball for a gain.

The Mooreland Bearcats soundly defeated the Sayre Eagles last Friday at Mooreland. The Bearcats kept the Eagles out of the end zone and secured a win of 27-0.

The Bearcats scored in their first six plays. Plays five and six led to a touchdown. Nate Butts (No. 11) took the ball from midfield and ran it within the Eagles' 20-yard line. In the next play, Carter Sampson (No. 7) kept the ball, ran it up the middle and scored. Mooreland kicked the extra point and within the first four minutes the Bearcats led 7 to 0.

It took a while for the Eagles to generate any offense. With about five minutes lef...
