Alva City Council to meet Monday

November 15, 2020

The City of Alva has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) acceptance of the repayment plan to the Alva Regional Airport. An audit showed the city had borrowed funds that came from the FAA and were being held in the airport account for upcoming capital improvement projects. During the Alva City Council meeting Monday, that acceptance will be acknowledged. The city council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers.

Following action on the consent agenda, the council will hear reports from earlier board and commission meetings. The mayor and the city business manager will present their reports.

The agenda does not include public remarks and inquiries.

Council members will vote on a resolution to amend the annual budget to include state aid disbursed in July to the Alva Public Library.

Mayor Kelly Parker will also present his reappointment of Marilyn Clyne to the Alva Public Library Board.

Council members may make remarks or inquiries before the council adjourns.

The Alva Utility Authority meeting will follow. In addition to the consent agenda, the trustees will discuss and act on approving a payment to Southwest Truck Parts, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $31,972.23 for repairs to Sanitation Unit #304. The unit needed a new motor so it could be placed back in service, and does not exceed the amount budgeted for vehicle repairs in the sanitation budget.
