Oklahoma coronavirus cases surpass 150,000, deaths top 1,500

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The number of reported coronavirus cases in Oklahoma surpassed 150,000 on Saturday and the number of deaths due to COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus, now tops 1,500, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

There were a reported 150,205 total cases and 1,516 since the pandemic began in March, increases of 2,847 cases and 23 additional deaths from Friday, the health department reported.

The department reported 1,247 people hospitalized, down from a record 1,279 on Friday, 25,356 active cases and that 123,333 people have recovered from the illness. The t...
