With high school football playoffs underway, basketball season is on the horizon. Alva Middle School has already begun play, and Alva High School begins basketball on Dec. 1 with home games against Chisholm. Special protocols will be in place for more physical distancing among fans. The number of tickets will be limited.

If you’ve been missing Northwestern Oklahoma State University sports, there’s relief on the horizon. The Great American Conference (GAC) canceled all sports through Dec. 31. On Monday, they announced start dates for basketball, volleyball and women’s soccer.
