Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association launches GivingTuesday campaign

• Donor to match gifts up to $10,000

November 20, 2020

ALVA, Okla. (Nov. 18, 2020) — The Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association officially launched its annual GivingTuesday campaign on Nov. 18; it ends on Dec. 1.

"Give the gift of education" – GivingTuesday 2020 – provides the online opportunity to invest in our Northwestern students' academic careers through scholarships. This is Northwestern's sixth annual GivingTuesday campaign. In that last five campaigns, more than $300,000 in donations were raised to support students on their academic journeys at Northwestern.

This year’s goal is to see 55 donors invest in Northwestern’s students. David Johnson, a former trustee and a Northwestern student from 1972-73, has challenged that he will add one dollar to his family scholarship for every dollar we raise for student scholarships. He has pledged to match up to $10,000 for donors who donate to student scholarships.

“The value of ‘the gift of education’ is immeasurable,” said Skeeter Bird, CEO, Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association. “Our graduates go out into the world and build upon the knowledge and lessons learned from Northwestern. They share, they teach, they discover, they lead. Your gift creates the opportunities for enduring success stories.”
