Fans of baseball’s New York Yankees were happy to see their team make it to the World Series in 1976 after an absence of 11 years. That was, however, where their joy ended as the Cincinnati Reds swept the American League champions, four games to none.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, the 1976 World Series belonged to the Reds. Cincinnati’s batters produced runs while its pitchers kept the Yankees’ bats quiet.
