Although Alva Community Theatre has been dark for six months, its stage will shine brighter than ever when safe to reopen for future performances.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Charles Morton Share Trust, ACT I recently purchased new LED stage lighting and wireless microphone systems.

After consulting with ACT I technical advisor Philip Anton, sound and light technician Connie Anton and director Thamazin Harrison had Sparks Music of Arkansas City custom-design an FCC-compliant wireless microphone system and LED theater lighting to fit ACT I's specific performance requirements.

The wireless microphone replacement includes 16 new body-pack wireless systems and headset microphones, giving a much-improved sound quality and stability between transmitters and receivers.

The lighting upgrade includes professional quality LED lights, which will visually enhance performances by allowing the lighting technician to select colors and intensity. The LED lights require less maintenance and will be more energy efficient.
