Woods County Commissioner John Smiley suggested Monday that county employees be given the remainder of the week off with pay. Since it’s already a short week with the Thanksgiving holiday, Smiley thought it would be beneficial in slowing the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

The item wasn’t on the agenda but was brought up under new business.

Smiley said he already has an employee from the District 3 shed in quarantine. Several of the county offices have been affected by the coronavirus as well. The courthouse is currently closed although employees have been working.
