FCCLA members Kameron Calhoun, Fabi Franz, Triston White, Allynia Nusser and Shay Wilson present the "Missing Man Table" at the Veteran's Day assembly. This presentation is a humble way to remember and honor the sacrifice of the men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedom.

Top (left) TamLynn Link plays her guitar and sings "American Soldier" for the Veteran's Day assembly; (right)Freedom native Valarie Brown speaks to students about what it means to be a veteran. Brown served seven years active duty in the Army as a Blackhawk crew chief and mechanic; she served two tours in Iraq with over 300 combat flight hours. Bottom: Rustin Cook undertakes the "22 push-up challenge" to draw attention to a tragic statistic: 22 veterans commit suicide each day, or 7,400 per year. Prevention begins with awareness. Cook has made a commitment to join the Army National Guard on Dec. 10.
