The Northwestern Oklahoma State University community answered the call in another season of giving. In its sixth year of participating in the global online GivingTuesday campaign, the Northwestern Foundation & Alumni saw 33 donors give $53,204.73 between Nov. 18 and Dec. 1.

David Johnson, both a former trustee and a Northwestern student, gave one dollar to his family scholarship for every dollar raised for student scholarships. He pledged to match up to $10,000 for donors who gave to student scholarships.

“We are extremely pleased with the support our donors provided for our students this year,” said Skeeter Bird, CEO, Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association. “With all of the other distractions occurring in our world, we did not know how this year would play out. At the end of our online campaign, we were delighted with the outcome.

Each gift was added to the endowment of the donor’s choice. If no choice was made, the funds went to Rangers Investing in Students and Education (RISE), the general endowed scholarship fund. Each gift helps Northwestern students in their pursuit of higher education.
