Northwestern falls in rivalry road matchup

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern traveled to Weatherford Monday, Jan. 11, to face the Bulldogs of Southwestern for the first road game of the season. Unfortunately, the Lady Rangers fell short after a slow start allowed SWOSU to win 93-47.

The Lady Rangers finished with two players in double-digit scoring figures, Bailey Brown and Kaylee Jo Neeley. Brown finished shooting 5-of-11. She posted 14 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Neeley, a freshman from Wellington, Texas, made her debut of the season shooting 4-of-7. She finished with 10 points, five rebounds, two steals and a block.

Mya Johnson ended with eight points and seven rebounds. She finished shooting 4-of-7. Lizzie Shephard racked up four rebounds, five points and a steal. Scout Frame snagged seven rebounds after 17 minutes of play.

M. Gore led the way for the Bulldogs after finishing with 21 points, two rebounds and one steal. She shot 7-of-12 from field goal range and 5-of-7 from outside. Tramble scored 19 points, she finished shooting 7-of-13 and tallied six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Karly Gore snagged four rebounds and two steals. She finished shooting 5-of-11 for 13 points. K. Gore assisted five Bulldog scores. Regan Crawford posted 13 points, four rebounds and two steals. Taber Beer rounded out the double-digit bulldog scorers with 11 points, five steals, five assists and a rebound.


Northwestern moves to 3-1 on the season and 1-1 in GAC play. The Lady Rangers were looking to bounce back against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 3 p.m.
