The Alva City Council held a special session Monday, Jan. 11, with all members present. When the council approved an election proclamation in the Dec. 21 meeting, the city treasurer was inadvertently left off.

During the special meeting, the council members voted to approve Resolution 2021-001 calling for a municipal election to be held April 6. Offices up for election include the city treasurer and seat one in each of the four city wards.

Trent Goss is the current city treasurer. Incumbents in the council seats up for election are Daniel Winters, Ward 1; Chris Eckhardt, Ward 2; Bo Hannaford, Ward 3; and Brian Wallis, Ward 4.

The filing period for the municipal election is Feb. 1-3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
