Swimming pool plumbing is good, but everything else is challenged

Red paint marks areas of concern found by an engineer at the Alva Municipal Swimming Pool. Paul Barton, chair of the swimming pool task force, spoke about those findings to the city council Jan. 19.

Alva Swimming Pool Task Force Chair Paul Barton gave an update to the city council Tuesday, Jan. 19. After a vote to finance a new pool through a city ad valorem tax failed, a task force made up of community members was appointed by the council to study the situation and look for answers. The task force has received the engineering assessment conducted on the pool by Lamp Rynearson and Carruthers.
