Health department reports Oklahoma COVID deaths top 3,500

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The death toll in Oklahoma due to the illness caused by the coronavirus topped 3,500 on Saturday, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

The department reported 33 additional deaths due to COVID-19 to bring the total to 3,504 since the pandemic began, and reported 2,373 new virus cases for a total of 386,590.

The rolling average of deaths in Oklahoma due COVID-19 has increased during the past two weeks from 31.71 per day to 40.57 while the average number of new cases fell from 3,922.57 to 2,603.57 and the positivity rate declined from 19.68% to 15.6%., accor...
