Freedom, Waynoka and Alva will have races on the municipal election ballot

The Woods County Election Board has been inundated with candidates filing for the municipal election to be held April 6. Late Wednesday afternoon, Election Board Secretary Sandra Koehn said races have developed in Freedom, Waynoka and Alva. All candidates have filed as non-partisan. Filing was to continue until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Freedom Filings

In Freedom, Cindy Reed and Natasha L. Elrod have filed for city clerk. Filing for trustee in Ward 1 are Concha Herrera and Matthew Bixler. Kama Luddington and Miles Nixon are candidates for the Ward 2 unexpired two-year term. Shad Brackin and Michel...

Wonderful to see so many Alva natives filing for city council. I think this speaks volumes for the Alva public school teachers and the focus they gave on government and civic engagement.
