Waynoka firefighters return home

Local firefighters, EMS and police department staff lined U.S. Highway 281 as the escort of two fallen Waynoka firefighters were brought back home. Alva firefighters flew a large American flag over the highway to pay the ultimate tribute and respect as they were escorted into town.

Tuesday evening, a more than mile-long escort made its way from Oklahoma City to Alva. Early Friday morning, Jan. 29, Waynoka Fire Chief Lonnie Bolar and Waynoka Firefighter Taylor Bradford lost their lives fighting a house fire in Waynoka. On Tuesday the heroes were brought back home to be laid to rest.
