John Meredith Myers was born on June 24, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Lena Ruth Collier Myers and Duane B. Myers and passed from this life on February 12, 2021, at his home near Aline, Oklahoma. John moved to Aline 30 years ago after retiring as captain from the Enid Fire Department where he served for 25 years. John was also a member of the Air Force Reserves.

On February 4, 1966, John married Linda S. Lackey in Enid.
