Alva district basketball games moved to Monday

The weather has caused some changes in basketball playoff schedules in the area. Alva High School was to host Blackwell for the district playoff tonight (Friday). Those games have been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 22, according to the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA). The Ladybugs will play at 6 p.m. with the Goldbug game to follow at 8 p.m. in Alva Monday.
The Cherokee girls have advanced to Class A regional playoffs in the consolation bracket after a loss to Laverne 60-31 on Feb. 13. The Lady Chiefs will play Canton at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Seiling.
