Grow and Share OHCE regular meeting
February 21, 2021
Grow and Share OHCE conducted its Feb. 9 monthly meeting by Zoom. The meeting was called to order and all members recited the flag salute. Mary Hamilton gave a devotional from Jesus Calling referencing Hebrews 12:2. Ten members answered roll call to “What is your favorite exercise or physical activity?” Minutes for the January meeting were read and approved as corrected. In the absence of the treasurer, the treasurer's report was not given.
Janet Cunningham read highlights from emails from Susan Holliday, OHCE Extension educator. The emails dealt with an upcoming state leadership conference and the West District meeting, both to be held virtually. Holliday also requested that leader lesson reports be turned in each month.
Under committee reports the group discussed a county project for the Cultural Enrichment Committee. It was decided to ask each Woods County OHCE member to record oral and/or written stories of how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected individuals, families and the community. Grow and Share will request time at achievement night to present this to all of the Woods County groups.
There being no unfinished business the group moved to new business. Mary Hamilton suggested that the Blessing Boxes around town are still very much in need.
Volunteers were encouraged to attend the next leader's lesson on “Fostering Kindness” on Feb. 25 at 1:30 p.m.
Carol Erikson gave the lesson on “Don't Just Sit There – Get Fit While You Sit,” demonstrating some of the exercises. An informative mini-lesson was given by Elazabeth on scrapbooking. She showed several examples, including one for Grow and Share detailing its January meeting. Several members showed or mentioned Secret Sister gifts received since last meeting.
The meeting adjourned to the February regular meeting to be held on March 9 at 6:30 p.m. Mary Hamilton volunteered to host the meeting; the place will be determined at a later date.
