This week we will read the book of John. The gospel of John is written from a different perspective than Luke. Luke reveals many of Jesus’ miracles and His encounters with the Pharisees and his teaching through parables. John’s focus is more on Jesus teaching the disciples and apostles. Less attention is given to the miracles and more to His teaching to prepare His followers for life without His physical presence.

In John’s account Jesus speaks more openly about who He is to His followers. In Luke He spoke more in parables or stories. In John He speaks openly, referring to Himself as the bread...
