The number of Oklahoma's active COVID-19 cases keeps sinking

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The number of Oklahoma hospital patients with COVID-19 continues to sink, state health officials reported Saturday.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 12,929 patients with the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 were hospitalized as of Saturday, 407 fewer than on Friday, while 779 new coronavirus cases pushed the state's pandemic total to 423,802.

The state's 59 new COVID-19 deaths raised the state's pandemic death toll to almost 4,379, the health department reported.

Meanwhile, Johns Hopkins University researchers said the state's average number of daily new cases over the past two weeks has fallen to 773.3, a 48.8% decrease.
