Tucker is new city clerk for City of Kiowa

At the March meeting of the Kiowa City Council Monday night, Cady Tucker was announced as the new city clerk. The council passed an ordinance that states the city clerk shall reside within the Kiowa Township of Barber County, Kansas.

She and her husband Stan Tucker resided in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma, where he retired as county commissioner. She was administrator for the Alfalfa County OSU Extension. The couple is moving to Kiowa at the end of March, Tucker told the Newsgram. She was in the office getting acclimated Tuesday. She attended the council meeting Monday night in the audience section. Utility Clerk Lynette Callison kept the meeting minutes as she has in this interim period.

Kiowa City Administrator Sam Demel commented about Tucker, “We're glad to have her on board. She has a lot of office and accounting experience. I can see her hit the ground running. She has everything she needs to be successful in the clerk position.”
