The book of Acts is our next week’s reading. Luke wrote the gospel of Luke and Acts. Luke ended with Jesus appearing to people after His resurrection. Acts begins with Jesus appearing to His apostles and instructing them to wait in Jerusalem for baptism of the Holy Spirit. Knowledge of Old Testament history helps us understand the timeline of events around Jesus’ death, resurrection, and the beginnings of His church.
