Six injured in Major County rollover

A driver and five passengers were injured in a rollover near Fairview Friday. One of them, an infant, was listed in critical condition.

The wreck occurred at 4:38 p.m. on OK-58 and E 550 Road, approximately three miles south of Fairview in Major County.

James Cayot, 42, of Enid was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on OK-58 when he fell asleep and drove off the left side of the road into the ditch. The vehicle rolled one time and came to rest on its wheels.

Cayot was transported by private vehicle to Fairview Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. Two passengers, Jeremiah Cayot, 18, of Harker Heights, Texas, and a juvenile female, 13, of Harker Heights, Texas, were also taken to Fairview Regional where they were treated and released.

A 13-year-old passenger from Fairview was transported by Major County EMS to Okeene Hospital where she was treated and released.


Sarah Schultz, 35, of Enid was transported by Major County EMS to Fairview Regional and then flown by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with possible trunk external and leg injuries. She was later treated and released.

An infant male, age 3 months, of Enid, was transported by private vehicle to Fairview Regional and flown by Air Evac to Children’s OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition with head injuries.

OHP Trooper Randal McCullough investigated, assisted by Trooper Kyle Rosine, Major County Sheriff’s Office, Major County EMS and Fairview Fire Department.
