New daily Oklahoma COVID-19 case average still trending down

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The number of new COVID-19 continued to trend lower Saturday in Oklahoma, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

The university's data show the rolling average number of the state's new daily COVID-19 cases were falling by 31%.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported no new cases on Saturday, leaving the state's pandemic total holding steady at 434,491. However, Johns Hopkins data show 29 new COVID-19 deaths drove the state's pandemic death toll to 4,788.

More than 1 million people in Oklahoma have received at least one vaccine dose, almost 27% of the population, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
