Kiowa a `Tree City USA' for 25 consecutive years

Since the Kiowa Tree Board was appointed by the mayor in 1996, they've planted 210 trees/bushes throughout the community. That's about $8,700 worth.

A few members of Kiowa's Tree Board attended Kiowa's City Council March meeting to make their annual presentation. They were Carolyn McGinley and Carra Mayberry, who told the council that the tree board received the National “Tree City USA” acknowledgement for the 25th consecutive year in 2020.

Each year the city donates to the tree board at a requested amount. For 2021 it's $200, which the council approved. In addition to that funding, Kiowa's Ge...
