The April 6 election in Oklahoma is less than a week away. There are races in three Woods County municipalities. For a look at what will be on the ballot in your area, go to the Oklahoma Election Board website and click on the Next Election for April 6. Then look for your county.
If you like to avoid crowds and lines, early voting is available today and Friday, April 1–2, at the county election board in Alva. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
On Tuesday, April 6, you’ll be voting at your usual precinct location. You can locate your polling location using the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Polling places for Alva are at Northwest Technology and the Woods County Fairgrounds with the precinct 3 using the east half of the merchant’s building and precinct 5 using the west half. Waynoka’s polling place is the Waynoka Housing Authority Office, and Freedom voters will go to the Freedom Methodist Church.
Remember to take an approved form of identification. Federal and state issued photo IDs, passports and tribal-issued photo IDs are accepted. You may also use the voter identification card you were mailed when you registered.
