Alva storm siren tests begin Monday noon

Although severe weather can occur during any season in Oklahoma, spring brings the biggest threat of tornadoes. The City of Alva has a number of storm sirens located around the city to provide warnings; however, these are only helpful if they are kept in good working condition.
The Alva Fire Department will be testing storm sirens the first Monday of every month beginning this week on April 5 at noon. Tests will be scheduled every first Monday through July 5.
