Dowling, Brooks, Bowman win Alva City Council seats

• Winters retains council office, Goss continues as treasurer

 


Both incumbents who filed for reelection to Alva city offices won in Tuesday’s election. Trent Goss retained his position as city treasurer with 67.54 percent of the vote. He had 491 votes compared to 236 for Heather Penner.

Daniel D. Winters will continue in Ward 1 Seat 1 as he beat two opponents. Winters took 50.66 percent of the vote with 369. Justin Scribner had 281 votes for 38.65 percent of the total. Tim Bradley had 77 votes for 10.59 percent.

In Ward 2 Taylor Dowling won Seat 1 with 52.42 percent of the vote. He had 379 votes compared to 344 for Mark Nichols.
